Naomi Bates is an associate in the New York office of Zuckerman Spaeder.
Before joining the firm, Naomi was a litigation and regulatory enforcement associate at an international law firm, where she had a broad practice encompassing civil litigation, arbitration, and regulatory enforcement. She has advised clients on issues related to contract interpretation, copyright infringement, arbitrability, civil rights, and family law.
Naomi graduated from Columbia Law School, where she served as Forum Editor of the Columbia Law Review. While in law school, she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and a member of the Black Law Students Association. She served as a legal extern at the Advancement Project, focusing on voting accessibility issues and prison litigation related to COVID-19. She also served as a legal intern at Morningside Heights Legal Services, where she focused on Social Security Insurance Benefits and Medicaid issues for clients aging out of foster care, and at the New York Legal Assistance Group, focusing on uncontested divorces, custody, and immigration matters under the Violence Against Women Act.
