Zuckerman Spaeder LLP Names Daniel P. Moylan Partner

Zuckerman Spaeder LLP is pleased to announce that Daniel P. Moylan has been named partner. Mr. Moylan, who is based in the firm’s Baltimore office, works on a range of complex litigation matters, with a concentration on cases involving intellectual property (IP) as well as legal and accounting malpractice.

Since joining the firm in 2011, Mr. Moylan has represented companies and individuals in commercial disputes, criminal matters, and ethics cases. His recent experience has included coordinating with a team of foreign counsel and experts as part of multi-national IP enforcement efforts on behalf of a client in the pharmaceutical industry, including through international arbitration. He has represented clients in numerous matters involving the ownership, licensing, and alleged infringement of intellectual property, including copyrighted materials, trademarks, trade secrets, and related contractual issues involving patented technologies. Among his recent matters, Mr. Moylan has defended a venture capital firm in cases related to the acquisition and operation of its businesses, including in litigation over the handling of alleged trade secrets. He recently defended an investment company and its principals in a protracted dispute over the ownership and production of a multi-part television documentary series planned for broadcast on public television, which involved coordinating litigation in multiple forums in the United States and Canada, and led to a favorable settlement allowing production of the series to resume following a lengthy hiatus.

From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Moylan served as an assistant prosecutor in the Office of the Prosecutor for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (The Hague, The Netherlands), where he briefed and argued matters before the Trial and Appeals Chambers.

Since 2011, The Best Lawyers in America has recognized Mr. Moylan’s work in the areas of legal malpractice defense and commercial litigation. In 2009 and 2010, he was named a Rising Star in the Super Lawyers legal rankings.

Mr. Moylan graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 1995 and from Georgetown University Law Center in 2000.
