Bill Schultz Receives Distinguished FDA Alumni Award

May 2017

Zuckerman Spaeder is proud to announce that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Alumni Association has granted Bill Schultz, a partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, with a FDA Distinguished Alumni Award. The award recognizes former FDA employees that have had a continuing and major impact on FDA as a whole, reflect FDA’s values, and that exemplify an outstanding commitment to meeting the agency’s mission of protecting the public health.

Bill returned to Zuckerman Spaeder in November of 2016 after serving more than five years in the Obama Administration as General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). That role followed his previous service as FDA Deputy Commissioner for Policy and positions with the Department of Justice and the U.S. Congress. Before joining HHS, Schultz was a Zuckerman Spaeder partner for 10 years.

“Distinguished Alumni recipients demonstrate outstanding service and commitment to the mission, leadership, and staff of the FDA and continued support through the FDA Alumni Association,” said Nancy Myers, Board Chairman of the FDA Alumni Association. She further stated that Bill Schultz is “a standout in his profession.”

The Distinguished Alumni Award will be presented at the 57th Annual FDA Honor Awards Ceremony.
